His whimsical and exceedingly detailed figures in wrought and welded metals are like three-dimensional snapshots of imagined characters.
A gesture, expression, or moment of activity elicits in the viewer solemn delight. In spite of the sculptures’ fictionalized mechanisms and highly stylized forms, the exchange within each piece is instantly recognizable, tapping something younger within each of us through the artist’s keen sense of nostalgia and fancy.
